The authorities have taken immediate action to tackle the issue and ensure the convenience and well-being of citizens by sprinkling water over the dusty roads in front of the Police Reserve in Paltan Bazaar. In a tweet, the Guwahati Police announced that they have initiated the sprinkling of water on the roads in front of the Police Reserve Complex to combat the dust problem. This proactive measure aims to mitigate the hindrance faced by passersby due to the dusty conditions.They highlighted the negative impact this has had on the health of residents, causing asthmatic issues and inconveniencing the public. The user further called for action to be taken against the responsible parties, suggesting that L&T be held accountable for the situation. The spread of red soil and subsequent dust accumulation during dry weather, as well as the worsening conditions during rainy periods, have been cited as key concerns by the Twitter user. They urged the authorities to take appropriate action and ensure that citizens are not inconvenienced by the deteriorating conditions. Taking cognizance of the matter, Assam Director General of Police (DGP), GP Singh, personally acknowledged the concern and instructed the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, to investigate the issue promptly.
