In a significant breakthrough, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended a Junior Engineer on Monday on charges of bribery. The arrested, identified as Sabibar Rahman, who held the position at the Debitola Development Block of the Kokrajhar district, was caught red-handed in front of the Development Block while accepting a bribe from a complainant in exchange for releasing bills. It may be mentioned that this arrest marks the second arrest of a government official by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam in the last 24 hours.The anti-corruption cell took to Twitter to report the incident, stating, "2nd trap of the day! @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Sabibar Rahman, Junior Engineer of Debitola Development Block, Dist: Kokrajhar, after he accepted bribe for release of bills of the complainant."
