Sleuths of Guwahati Police and Crime Branch arrested three alleged drug peddlers from two different locations in the city on Tuesday. In the first incident, acting on a specific tip-off, a team from the Central Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) successfully apprehended two alleged drug peddlers from the Chatribari area. The arrested suspects have been identified as Md Kadam Ali, aged 21, and Himanga Bora, aged 27. The team also recovered 43 vials containing suspected heroin from their possession. In another incident, following a specific lead Crime Branch arrested one Babul Ali from the Nepali Mandir area and seized 14 gm of heroin. The Crime Branch sleuths also seized ₹1600 cash, one mobile phone, and one two-wheeler.The information was twitted by Guwahati Police. The police are investigating the case and more arrests are likely to follow. Legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals. Drug abuse has been a growing concern in the city, and the Guwahati Police have been actively engaged in curbing its spread.
