The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during the cabinet meeting held today announced that Assam may host the National Games in 2025 or 2027. The cabinet has decided to write to the Indian Olympic Association to allow Assam host the National games either in 2025 or 2027. Assam already possesses two high-standard stadiums in Sarusajai and Amingaon, and is currently constructing another one in Chandrapur, Guwahati. This move is aimed at bolstering the state's infrastructure for hosting the prestigious sporting event. It's worth noting that Assam has previous experience in organising the national games, as it successfully hosted the 33rd edition in 2007 in Guwahati. With this upcoming opportunity, Assam aims to once again showcase its capabilities in organising and conducting a successful sporting event at the national level.
