NorthEast United Football Club (NEUFC) is gearing up for the Durand Cup semi-final against East Bengal which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, commonly known as the Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata. Earlier, at the quarter-final stage, NEUFC showcased their mettle against the spirited Indian Army Football Team (IAFT) on August 24. Konsam Phalguni Singh's well-executed goal proved to be the difference-maker, propelling NEUFC to a victory at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. NEUFC's victory secured their place in the Durand Cup semi-finals for the first time. They now await Emami East Bengal, who overcame Gokulam Kerala Football Club at the Salt Lake Stadium on August 25, for a place in the final. The other semi-final will be played between Football Club Goa and Mohun Bagan at the Salt Lake Stadium on August 31. The final will also be played at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday, September 3
