In a groundbreaking stride towards advancing medical technology, the Northeast region of India is all set to witness the introduction of robotic surgery. In an unprecedented move, Assam is geared up to embrace this cutting-edge surgical technique for the first time in the region. Speaking to G Plus, a senior official from the Directorate of Medical Education said, "We are excited to announce the upcoming introduction of robotic surgery in two prominent institutions for now. The State Cancer Institution at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital will be one of the pioneer centres to incorporate this revolutionary approach. Additionally, Dibrugarh Medical College will also be equipped with robotic surgical technology." Robotic surgery, a cutting-edge medical technique that combines advanced robotics and surgical procedures, has been making waves in healthcare around the world. This innovative approach allows surgeons to perform intricate procedures with enhanced precision and control, often resulting in reduced trauma, shorter recovery times, and improved patient outcomes. Robotic surgery's ability to make smaller incisions and navigate tight spaces has made it particularly effective in delicate surgeries, such as cardiac and neurosurgical procedures. The senior official also claimed, "This is for the first time robotic surgery that will be introduced in North East India."
